The Players‘ Corner is a summary of important organizational facts for beach volleyball players. All information refers to Austrian tournaments. It does not replace reading the regulations!



Intervals between matches

Intervals between matches on one court are usually 10 minutes. Matches never start prior the official starting time.

Intervals between matches of one team, regardless of being a referee or playing, are usually 20 minutes. Between semi-finals and match for the third place it is 30 minutes.



Captain

A captain might approach the referees in the following cases:

  • He might ask for the interpretation of the rules.
  • He is allowed to ask for the change of apparel, verify the service rotation, have the referees check the equipment or realigning lines.
  • Only he can ask for a time-out.
